Work pressure has become a norm in todays corporate environment. Everyone who has ever held a job has, at some point, felt the pressure of work-related stress. Any job can have stressful elements, even if we love what we do. In the short-term, we may experience pressure to meet a deadline or to fulfill a challenging obligation. Hence, ever increasing sales targets, approaching project deadlines, performance issues are some other factors that contribute to work pressure. But when work stress becomes chronic, it can be overwhelming and harmful for our both physical and emotional health. It can contribute to problems like headache, sleep disturbances, short temper, difficulty concentrating. Even if we are careless, it can lead to health conditions such as depression, obesity and heart disease. But, stress at work is common, finding a low-stress job may be difficult A more realistic choice would be to simply adopt more effective strategies to reduce stress at work.
