Promotion is a vertical hierarchical movement of an employee within the organisation. In other words, it is your advancement from one job position to another job position that has a higher salary range, a higher-level job title, enhanced status, and, often, more and higher level of job responsibilities in an organization. A promotion is usually handed to you when you display exceptional performance or develop the appropriate skills and knowledge, necessary to take on the higher job responsibility. To create and manage our own career is your biggest and sole responsibility as an adult. Promotions are necessary as they develop competitive spirit and inculcate the zeal to work harder and more sincerely and to enhance your skills and knowledge. It also has an in-built motivational value as it elevates your authority, power and status. within an organisation and also removes feelings of stagnation and frustration.
